Larissa De Filippis
Registered Psychotherapist( Qualifying) Associate Therapist
In life’s journey, it’s all too easy to find ourselves on a familiar path, facing the same hurdles time and again. Yet therapy offers a sanctuary—a safe harbour where we can unravel the mysteries of these obstacles, understand why they persist and discover fresh, empowering perspectives to tackle them head-on.
My mission is to embark on this journey alongside my clients, delving deep into their challenges and illuminating new pathways forward where previously there seemed only stagnation. I specialize in assisting individuals in navigating anxiety, sadness, relationship dynamics, self-esteem struggles, stress, family issues, and the lingering shadows of childhood trauma. Regardless of where clients find themselves in their personal odyssey, I am committed to meeting them there, ready to offer support and guidance.
At the heart of my therapeutic approach lies narrative and person-centred techniques enriched by trauma-informed and intersectional perspectives. This means that I focus on your unique story and experiences, and I believe you are the expert in your life. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe and empowered to explore and confront their challenges with courage and confidence.
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor’s in Sexuality Studies from York University, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our collaborative journey of healing and growth. This extensive academic background equips me with the necessary tools to understand and address various psychological issues.
Everyone's Journey is differents and i'm here to help you on yours.
Larissa De Filippis
Before becoming a therapist, I earned my Master of Business Administration (MBA) and worked in banking. My background in the banking industry has taught me that working in a high-stress atmosphere can make it difficult to find time and space for connections and support due to social, cultural, and organizational barriers.
In addition to finding meaning in therapeutic work, I find joy in practicing gratitude, going for long walks, and cuddling with my pets. I love spending time with family and especially cherish the adventures I have with my children. I love to read, bake and love spending time in nature.
Professional Bio
I received my Master of Business from University of East London, UK and Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a Registered Psychotherapist through the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I am also a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP).
