Shannon Wright RN(EC) NP-PHC MSc MACP(C) CPMHN(C)
Shannon is a primary health care nurse practitioner with expertise in mental health and substance use. She has over 15 years’ experience in primary health care and mental health care. She has worked in a variety of settings including community health centres, community hospitals, and
academic hospitals. Shannon has dedicated her nursing career to providing care to individuals with mental health needs and addressing barriers and stigma associated with mental illness. She is committed to meeting clients where they are and integrates a holistic approach to care.
Shannon is qualified to provide mental health care to children and adults. She is passionate about providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health care. Some of her practice specialties include (but are not limited to) medical psychiatry, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Shannon has many years of experience conducting mental health assessments to provide a diagnosis and an individualized pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment plan to manage symptoms that impair functioning.
When not working with Healing Pathways Counselling, she dedicates her work to an academic hospital in the outpatient department, working with individuals who live with co-occurring physical and mental health conditions. Shannon is also part time faculty in the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto.
